I am in Beijing. In Beijing people spit out wads of snot and saliva. It is so different and gross. You are walking by somebody and you can hear them collecting the snot and saliva. If you hear the person behind you do that, run away. Another thing that shocked me was that everybody here thinks that blond hair and Caucasian people are freaks. Everywhere you go, people are taking pictures of you. Sometimes they ask to take pictures with you and sometimes they take out their iphones and sneak a picture or 6000.
Yesterday I went to Summer Palace and the Great Wall of China. Summer Palace was very boring. We got a free college tour guide. Our mistake. We went to both places with another family that had a younger daughter and an older brother. They were from Great Britain. The wall was cool. We when to the section called Mutianyu. It was steep and some stairs were a inch deep and some were 2 feet deep. There was a couple taking there wedding photos there, I thought they had the right idea because it was beautiful.
Today I went to Tienanmen Square. The security there is crazy. You get patted down and they check your bag(s). I get it though. If a violent protest started, they have to deal with it.
It was raining today, so that is all we did.
Here are some pictures:
I am going home tonight! I can’t believe it.
Thank you for reading my blog.
Sincerely,
Best wishes,
