On Friday, I went to the Elephant Nature Park. It was so cool. You got to pet, feed and wash the elephants. The elephants were Asian Elephants. A difference between African and Asian elephants are African elephants have bigger bodies and ears. When we were feeding the elephants, you would take the food that they gave you and you would put the fruit in there trunk and they would bring it up to their mouth and eat it. Sometimes they would wrap their trunk around you and smell you. Usually only the blind elephants would do that. The camp was only for abused or hurt elephants. Some even had broken legs or wounds. I had so much fun because they were so gentle. Their skin is rough and hairy. At this camp, you weren’t aloud to ride the elephants. That was my favourite day.
On Saturday, I went on a tour up the mountains. When we got to the top of the mountain, we went on a hike to a waterfall and we swam in it. The current was very strong so when we tried to swim up to the waterfall, we would be swimming and going nowhere. It was very fun hiking when we crossed the waterfall because they built ladders are bridges out of regulars sticks so it wasn’t very sturdy.
Here are some pictures:
Just for my aunt:
Hello Princess,
Happy to see you are having such a great time..
You have taught me a lot about elephants. I have always
thought that they were gentle creatures now you confirms this. The pictures are wonderful..Love U.
Glad to know that the abused elephants have a home with some caring folks and that you enjoyed the interaction…hmmm crossing those bridges look a bit dicey to me (hope you had a parachute)…once question though, last picture says “Just for my Aunt”…that spider is not for me…must be Auntie Ali…:)
