My time in Phuket was very uneventful. I got caught in six foot high waves, got burnt so my skin is peeling( it looks like I have vitiligo), I swam in the pool and I also did something very adventurous. Some of you will know this( every person in my family) I put my feet in a tank of Doctor Fish. Doctor Fish are fish that eat the dead skin off your body.It didn’t hurt, it was like somebody was trying to tickle you but not succeeding. Nobody else in my family would try it with me. I’m the youngest!
Now we are in Chiang Mai. It is hotter than Bangkok, but not as humid. With that said, it is uncomfortable.
Today I went to the day market. It has everything: clothes, food, electronics and daily needs. It is very cool seeing how messed-up our fruit at home is. Here it tastes and looks better. At home sometimes the fruit has no taste and next no colour.
When I was trying to get a good picture of sacs of peppers, a local man tapped my on the shoulder and suggested that I took a picture of him. After I did, he gave me and my mom each a half of a roasted yam. It tasted so good. We thanked him and left. That made my day.
Something else I did with my family in Phuket was launched a Chinese lantern. My brother held one side and I held the other side when the seller set it on fire. We let go and it was beautiful. When they came down, it was like you just finished your favourite book or story.
